Went to hug my boat

Description:

Here I had just left my old dock which i went onto in order to get my fenders off the dock. It was surprisingly colder out on the dock than on land. The docks had shifted quite a bit this winter. The marina had a bubbler in the water at the bottom of the ramp and also you could see how much the ice had moved the whole dock over from where it was supposed to be.

Here's a picture from when i went to go see my boat.  I hadn't seen it since November when it went into storage when i spent a couple of hours wrapping it up with a silver tarp.  I was told that the tarp didn't last but a couple of weeks.

You can see this is a front view of my boat.  You can see that the marina left my bungee straps on the ground after they removed my ripped cheap tarp I bought at Menards in Bolingbrook.  It was a huge thing which almost went entirely around the whole thing!

This was as close as i could get to the back of my boat without Illegally going over the fence.

This is a shame! terriibly bad tarping job
This is a shame! terriibly bad tarping job

Every year this boat is in the yard with no cover, the cockpit totally exposed, and not taken very good care of.  So sad!

Here's the back of the maxum 3700 which is totally exposed to the elements...

tiny gas propellers

Tiny props on such a big boat.  This is a gasser which rev's much higher than the diesel boats.  So they can have a much smaller prop.

not sure what I'm looking at here.  There is some kind of block of wood on the bow holding down the tarp I think...

Can you see my boat in there?  That's mine in the middle with the white cover.  The boats are all on tripod stands for the winter.

I hope nobody takes all my straps and stuff before I get back to the boat.

My old dock. I dock.
My old dock. I dock.

This was my old dock.  Those are the 50 and 60 foot docks.  I'm moving back to the 40 foot docks to save money this year.

Blocks of ice between the docks
Blocks of ice between the docks

Views of the marina with the ice blocks shifting the docks around this past/current winter.  It's almost surprising to me that people swim in this water in the summer.  Not that it get's really warm, but people do swim here.  The other thing is with only a month to go before the new season begins, there is still ice here!

Here's a shot looking over the ice in the marina while looking back towards downtown kenosha wisconsin.  I love this place!

Looking back at the parking lot from the docks

Here I was looking back at all the boats wrapped up in the parking lot from the old dock.  I went out there to get my fenders off the dock but forgot my tools.  The other thing was that over the ice, I felt like a beer in my cooler getting colder by the second!
